Dramatic scenes as fire engulfs Jack Nicholson house in Hollywood Hills

A fire broke out at a house in a Hollywood Hills house tonight that is owned by actor, Jack Nicholson.
The modest property was bought by the star of The Shining in 1973, but he rents it out to a friend.
Dozens of firefighters were reported on scene and two were injured and taken to a hospital.

The property is hard to reach by road, and proved to be difficult to tackle as the flames engulfed it - though the fire was contained.
The house is located on the 7300 block of Woodrow Wilson and according to online property records, Nicholson is listed as the owner, but he does not live there.
The current residents are William O'Farrell and William Tynan. Tynan is an actor who starred in The Two Jakes with Jack Nicholson.
It's not known who or if anyone was at the residence when the fire began.
The cause is under investigation.

This property is just off the famous Mulholland Drive, where the legendary actor owns three acres of property.
Nicholson started building there in the late 60s, then added his good friend Marlon Brando's estate to his own after the On the Waterfront actor died.
When he was alive, their stretch of the vertiginous hillside landmark was nicknamed 'Bad Boys Drive.'
The Woodrow Wilson home is just 1,301 square feet, Nicholson paid just $49,000 in the early 70s.
He's also owned property in Malibu, Venice Beach and nothern California.
