A close friend of hers told the Daily Star Sunday: 'Jade has always loved wearing really dark make-up and wearing dark clothes but now she's been ordered to drop that image if she wants to win the X Factor.'
According to the friend, the show's producers pulled Jade aside during boot camp and told her that it is important she has a look that appeals to their younger viewers.

An old school friend told the Sunday Mirror: 'Jade turned into a goth when she was about 13 and was really quiet at school. But when she started singing in the pubs a few years ago she really came out of her shell and turned into a right wild child.'
It is unclear what image The X Factor's producer will make Jade take on but some already successful Gothic styled artists include The Gossips Beth Ditto and Taylor Momsen.

They were seen flying in upper class with a large group of young male singers, who were being chatted to by an X Factor producer the whole way through the flight.
A source told the Mail Online that one passenger joked: ‘Give me a screaming baby any time, instead of this lot.’
The finalists were apparently breaking into song throughout the flight and bursting with excitement.
